Pierre Strong Jr. Has Nine Touches In Preseason Opener
1 year agoNew England Patriots running back Pierre Strong Jr. rushed for 21 yards on six attempts and caught all three of his targets for 12 yards in Thursday's 20-9 preseason loss to the Houston Texans. The Patriots rotated Strong and Kevin Harris by drive, with Strong getting the first crack on the team's first offensive possession. He was also mixed in with J.J. Taylor during passing situations. The 24-year-old is competing with Harris, Taylor, and Ty Montgomery for New England's backup running back spot behind Rhamondre Stevenson. Strong rushed for 100 yards and a touchdown while catching seven passes for 42 yards over 15 games in 2022. The former fourth-round pick could have some fantasy appeal if he can win New England's RB2 spot behind Stevenson.
