The Washington Capitals acquired forward Pierre-Luc Dubois from the Los Angeles Kings on Wednesday in exchange for goaltender Darcy Kuemper. Dubois, a former top-three draft pick, moves to D.C. after spending just one season in L.A. Following his arrival from Winnipeg, Dubois signed a big eight-year, $68 million contract with the Kings 12 months ago. However, he struggled badly in his new surroundings, going from a 60-point guy to a forward who registered only 40 points (16 goals, 24 assists) in 82 games. The soon-to-be 26-year-old will look to reignite his career with the Capitals, and it appears to be a good move for him. Washington badly needed to add quality at the center position due to Evgeny Kuznetsov's exit and Nicklas Backstrom's (hip) unavailability.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller
