5 years agoThe Columbus Blue Jackets defeated the Montreal Canadiens by a score of 4-3 on Sunday. Pierre-Luc Dubois scored two goals and added an assist in the win. He has seven points over his last three games and, with 42 points in 53 games, is on pace to post his second straight 60-point season. Oliver Bjorkstrand extended his points streak to eight games with an assist. During that span of time, he has 13 points. Rookie defenseman Vladislav Gavrikov scored the other goal, which was his fifth of the season. For Montreal, Tomas Tatar remained hot by scoring a goal and adding an assist. He has 12 points over his past 10 games. He’s now hit the 20-goal mark in five straight seasons. He’s also one point away from hitting the 50-point plateau in 2019-20. Max Domi scored his first goal in 14 games. --Marc Hulet - RotoBaller

2 months agoWashington Capitals center Pierre-Luc Dubois scored twice during their 2-1 overtime victory over the Vancouver Canucks on Wednesday evening. Dubois opened the scoring with a backhand shot in the final seconds of the first period. Dubois would then score his second goal of the evening in overtime on a snap shot. He also tallied three shots in this contest. This performance extended his point streak to five games. Over his past 18 games, Dubois has tallied an impressive 19 points with 35 total shots on goal. Overall, the 26-year-old has tallied 33 points through 41 total games this season. Fantasy managers should continue to start Dubois in all formats while he continues to ride this hot stretch.--Andy Smith - RotoBaller

5 months agoWashington Capitals forward Pierre-Luc Dubois logged a game-high three points in Wednesday's 6-3 victory over Philadelphia. He had two assists when Washington jumped to a 4-0 lead and bagged an empty-net goal late in the third period. Dubois struggled badly last year in Los Angeles, and things haven't started too well for him in D.C., either. However, he should get a good confidence boost from Wednesday's performance. Working as the second-line center, Dubois has collected five points (one goal, four assists) in six games as a member of the Capitals.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller

9 months agoThe Washington Capitals acquired forward Pierre-Luc Dubois from the Los Angeles Kings on Wednesday in exchange for goaltender Darcy Kuemper. Dubois, a former top-three draft pick, moves to D.C. after spending just one season in L.A. Following his arrival from Winnipeg, Dubois signed a big eight-year, $68 million contract with the Kings 12 months ago. However, he struggled badly in his new surroundings, going from a 60-point guy to a forward who registered only 40 points (16 goals, 24 assists) in 82 games. The soon-to-be 26-year-old will look to reignite his career with the Capitals, and it appears to be a good move for him. Washington badly needed to add quality at the center position due to Evgeny Kuznetsov's exit and Nicklas Backstrom's (hip) unavailability.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller

10 months agoLos Angeles Kings forward Pierre-Luc Dubois looks set to remain on the team for now, with general manager Rob Blake saying there aren't any plans to buy out his contract. There was speculation of a potential buyout for Dubois following a disappointing campaign in Los Angeles. After enjoying back-to-back 60-point years in Winnipeg, Dubois managed only 40 points (16 goals, 24 assists) in 82 games in his first season with the Kings. His struggles continued in the playoffs, where Dubois recorded only one point in a five-game series against the Oilers in the first round. The 25-year-old has the third-highest salary cap hit on the Kings squad with $8 million and is tied to the club through the 2030-31 campaign.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller
