Pierce Johnson Records Second Save On Thursday
2 years agoColorado Rockies right-hander Pierce Johnson earned his second save of the season on Thursday, closing out the 1-0 victory over the Washington Nationals. He pitched a clean ninth inning with no baserunners and recorded a pair of strikeouts. Johnson is the only arm on the staff with a save under his belt and now owns a 3.00 ERA with a 54% strikeout rate over three innings of work. With Daniel Bard (anxiety) out for the time being, fantasy managers should expect the 31-year-old to be the main man coming on for the ninth inning until the former returns.
