Phillies Not Pursuing Significant Outfield Addition?
10 months agoPhiladelphia Phillies president of baseball operations Dave Dombrowski downplayed the team's speculative interest in acquiring an outfielder ahead of spring training. Even with Brandon Marsh (knee) expected to miss roughly one month, the Phillies don't feel as though his injury opens up enough playing time to warrant an external addition. "The reality is that we don't have guaranteed playing time that some people want," Dombrowski said. "We just don't have that. It's not really even a dollar issue as it is playing time." At this time, it appears the Phillies plan to open the 2024 season with an outfield of Jake Cave, Cristian Pache, and Nick Castellanos.
