6 years agoColorado Avalanche goaltender Philipp Grubauer will get the call for Thursday's matchup with the Florida Panthers. Despite starting in just five games since the beginning of November, the 31-year-old has won six (and earned his team at least a point in eight starts) of his nine starts on the season. Grubauer carriers a modest 3.06 goals-against average and a .904 save percentage into Thursday's contest but should be considered a decent streaming option in deep fantasy leagues based on his penchant to win games thus far.--Chase Davis - RotoBaller

4 months agoSeattle Kraken goaltender Philipp Grubauer (undisclosed) will miss Friday's game against the Vegas Golden Knights as he deals with an injury suffered at home. The injury doesn't appear to be serious, as he was on the ice Friday morning, but it is enough to keep him out for at least one game. Ales Stezka was called up from the AHL and will back up Joey Daccord in Friday's game. If Grubauer's injury does end up being serious, Daccord would see a heavy workload.--Matt Garon - RotoBaller

5 months agoSeattle Kraken goaltender Philipp Grubauer will start Tuesday's season opener against the St. Louis Blues. He gets the nod ahead of Joey Daccord, who outplayed the German last season. Grubauer finished the 2023-24 campaign with a 14-16-2 record. He started the season with four consecutive losses and will look to avoid the same fate in 2024-25. The bookmakers have Seattle as a slight favorite for Tuesday's contest, so Grubauer appears to be in a good position to make a winning start. He boasts a 4-4-2 career record against the Blues.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller

11 months agoSeattle Kraken goaltender Philipp Grubauer had one of his most enjoyable nights at the office this season on Tuesday, shutting out Arizona in a 5-0 win. He recorded 39 saves, the most a Kraken goalie has ever had in a shutout. This was Grubauer's second shutout of the campaign. It's been a rocky road for the German, but Grubauer is finishing off the season strongly, as he's on a 4-1-0 run. Grubauer's overall record stands at 14-14-2, and he has allowed 2.81 goals with a .901 save percentage.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller

1 year agoSeattle Kraken goaltender Philipp Grubauer kept the Pittsburgh Penguins from scoring on Thursday, finishing a 2-0 victory with 33 saves. He got to celebrate his first shutout of the campaign. It's been another season full of misery for Grubauer, but he had a great time in February, logging four wins in five appearances. The improved form has pushed Grubauer's record to 9-9-1. He has allowed 2.89 goals with a .899 save percentage. The German netminder appears to have the hot hands right now and could frustrate a few more teams in the near future.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller
