Phil Hawes made good on his signing after the Contender Series win, knocking out fellow debuting fighter Jacob Malkoun in 18 seconds of action. Hawes has fought for several major organizations around the world and has shown he is more than ready for the UFC spotlight. Though he only saw 18 seconds of Hawes, we saw enough to know that the dynamite in his hands we saw at WSOF and Bellator translate just fine to the UFC. Earning his ninth professional win, Hawes has equaled his finish total, finishing all nine of those victories. Hawes is someone for you to put away in the back of your mind and continue to roster until further notice. He has the potential to go very far in the UFC.--Matt Bricker
