Pheonix Copley The Likely Starter For Kings Thursday
2 years agoLos Angeles Kings goaltender Pheonix Copley is set to guard the crease against Columbus on Thursday. Joonas Korpisalo has started out well in L.A. and Thursday's matchup is a game against his former team, but Kings head coach Todd McLellan has said that he doesn't want to interrupt the goalie rotation and this means Copley should get the nod after Korpisalo played in the last game against the Islanders. Copley has produced a superb 20-4-3 record with the Kings this season, allowing 2.69 goals per game with a .902 save percentage and one shutout. He lost his last start in a matchup against Nashville, but Copley is in a great bounce-back spot on Thursday, with the Blue Jackets having the worst record in the league and averaging only 2.54 goals per game.
