5 years agoThe New York Mets extended their most recent winning streak to six games in a row behind effective pitching and hot batting. Rookie sensation Peter Alonso was at the forefront of the offensive effort as he enjoyed a third consecutive game with a home run. The 24-year-old is right in the thick of the home run battle, currently tied for the third-most in all of baseball with 37. Alonso is also batting .260 and has 83 RBI as the Mets moved to three games over .500. At this point, Alonso is not only guaranteeing a Rookie of the Year Award, he's also throwing his hat into the NL MVP conversation should the Mets ride this hot streak into the postseason.--RDelgado
