Peter Alonso Smacks First Home Run
6 years agoThe New York Mets picked up another victory on Monday night, defeating the Miami Marlins to begin a new series. The game was in doubt almost the whole way until the ninth, when Peter Alonso made his presence felt yet again. The rookie connected on a lethal, three-run home run after the club had taken a one-run lead. The 24-year-old is now batting .412 to begin the year, quickly being picked up across all leagues in which he wasn't initially drafted. At this point, the Mets will have a hard time sending Alonso to the bench, even as they recover from their present injuries.
