Peter Alonso Picks Up Two Hits, Stays Hot
6 years agoAfter getting Tuesday off, New York Mets first baseman Peter Alonso returned to the lineup for Wednesday's game at Marlins Park. The rookie batted second and once again played first base. He would record two hits, including a double in the third inning that drove in New York's third run of the game. The 24-year-old continues to play himself into a starting job as he's now hitting .409 to begin the season. While he'll likely remain in some form of a platoon at first with Dominic Smith, his value continues to climb.
