Peter Alonso Goes Deep Twice In Defeat
6 years agoWhile the New York Mets fell to the Minnesota Twins Tuesday night at Citi Field, their young rookie first baseman remained red-hot. Peter Alonso drove in three more runs in a 14-8 loss, smashing a pair of home runs. Alonso, 24, was batting second in the lineup, now having hit four home runs in his last three games. An early favorite for NL Rookie of the Year, he's now hitting .385 with five home runs and 14 RBI through his first 10 games as the club's starting first baseman. He is the first rookie in 119 years to 11 extra-base hits through his team's first 10 games.
