1 year agoTampa Bay Rays right-hander Pete Fairbanks picked up his 20th save of the season on Wednesday when he closed out the 3-1 victory against the Boston Red Sox. The only damage was a one-out single, and he struck out a pair in the ninth inning. Fairbanks has been exceptional again in 2023, posting a 2.41 ERA, 0.99 WHIP, and 34.0% strikeout rate over 37 1/3 innings. Despite pitching for the Rays, the 29-year-old should be viewed as the closer and fantasy managers can expect another handful of saves before the season's over.--Spencer Seguin
