Pete Fairbanks Tagged With The Loss
3 years agoTampa Bay Rays pitcher Pete Fairbanks (3-5) allowed one earned run on three hits while striking out three over one inning during Wednesday's 3-2 loss to the Boston Red Sox. He was tagged with his fifth loss of the season. The 27-year-old entered the game in the ninth inning and surrendered the go-ahead RBI single to Jarren Duran. Fairbanks was activated from the injured list on August 31 and has been used in high-leverage situations since returning. The Rays right-hander is 5-for-6 in save opportunities with 11 holds, and owns a 3.55 ERA, 1.33 WHIP, and a 43: 15 K: BB over 33 innings in 2021. Andrew Kittredge is the Rays' closer fantasy managers should be invested in while Fairbanks has more value in league formats which reward solds (saves and holds).
