Pete Fairbanks Picks Up A Save On Wednesday
3 days agoTampa Bay Rays right-hander Pete Fairbanks got the final three outs to preserve a 5-4 win over the Los Angeles Angels on Wednesday. Fairbanks threw a scoreless ninth inning, striking out one and walking one, to convert his second save in as many chances this season. The veteran reliever has been excellent to begin the year, posting a 1-1 record, 1.80 ERA, 1.40 WHIP, and seven strikeouts in five innings of work. Fairbanks has a solid grip on the ninth-inning role for Tampa and should continue to see the bulk of the team's save chances.
