Pete Fairbanks Notches Fifth Save On Sunday
3 years agoTampa Bay Rays pitcher Pete Fairbanks allowed one hit while striking out two over a scoreless inning to earn the save during Sunday's 7-5 win over the Braves. He entered the game in the ninth inning and made things interesting by yielding a one-out single to Ozzie Albies. The Rays right-hander bounced back and struck out the next two batters he faced to notch his fifth save of the season. Fairbanks has now recorded a save in his last two appearances. He is 5-for-6 in save opportunities and owns a 3.18 ERA, 1.34 WHIP, and 33 strikeouts across 28 1/3 innings in 2021. The 27-year-old continues to share closing duties with Diego Castillo but remains a solid option for fantasy managers in search for saves.
