Pete Fairbanks Goes 1-2-3 For 19th Save
4 months agoTampa Bay Rays closer Pete Fairbanks worked a clean ninth inning to record his 19th save of the season on Tuesday versus the division rival Toronto Blue Jays. Fairbanks got Davis Schneider and Daulton Varsho to groundout before Alejandro Kirk flew out to end the game. It was a positive outing for the closer, who has allowed a run in three of his last five appearances, despite picking up a save in all those contests. Fairbanks has spent some time on the injured list this season, but continues to be effective when healthy. For the season, Fairbanks owns a 3.28 ERA with 8.33 K/9. Managers should continue to have confidence with Fairbanks moving forward.
