Pete Carroll Predicts Breakout For Gerald Everett
3 years agoSeattle Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll sees big things for tight end Gerald Everett in his first year with the team. "This is I think the fanciest, sweetest-looking receiver/tight end mix that we've had. He's like a wide receiver, he's got terrific after-the-catch run ability, really aggressive and he's a good blocker, too," Carroll said. The 2017 second-rounder follows offensive coordinator Shane Waldron into town. Waldron was the Rams tight ends coach during Everett's rookie season. Carroll said Everett knows Waldron's offense "inside and out." The 27-year-old had a career-high 41 catches and 417 yards last year, and he could be Seattle's true No. 3 receiver behind D.K. Metcalf and Tyler Lockett. At Everett's current ADP, he's a low-risk, high-upside, low-end TE1 now that Jacob Hollister and Greg Olsen are no longer on the team.
