1 year agoNew York Mets first baseman Pete Alonso went 2-for-2 with a home run, two RBI, two walks, and a stolen base in a resounding 10-1 victory over the Chicago Cubs on Thursday. The Mets pounded the Cubs in this one and Alonso stayed hot. He reached base in all four of his plate appearances and even swiped his first bag of the year. He also bopped his league-leading 19th home run of the season in the seventh inning off of Michael Rucker. Alonso has now homered six times in the last nine contests and has his season batting line up to .239/.341/.559 to go along with 19 home runs and 45 RBI across 188 at-bats.--Jon Mathisen - RotoBaller
