New York Mets first baseman Pete Alonso went 1-for-2 with a two-run home run and walk in an embarrassing rout at the hands of the Braves on Wednesday. The Mets were blown out 20-2 with Alonso accounting for both of the Mets runs courtesy of his 13th homer of the season. Alonso is now slashing .391/.481/.696 over his past seven games with two home runs and five RBI. Notably, 12 of Alonso's home runs have come on the road this season, with his splits far better away from Citifield. The Mets conclude a three-game series with the Braves on Thursday, before heading to Yankee Stadium for a three-game set against the Yankees beginning on Friday.
