Pete Alonso Hits 11th Homer Of Season On Sunday
3 years agoNew York Mets first baseman Pete Alonso went 1-for-4 with a solo homer in the Mets 5-2 loss to the Nationals on Sunday. Alonso's bat had been red hot in early June but cooled off beginning with the Mets series against the Cubs that began on June 14. Sunday's homer was, hopefully, a good sign that his bat is about to get hot again. Over his past seven games, Alonso is slashing just .174/.231/.304 with one homer and four RBI. Despite the recent struggles, Alonso should remain active in all fantasy lineups since he is known to hit homers in bunches. He could potentially feast during the Mets upcoming eight-game homestand which begins on Monday against the Braves.
