Penn Murfee Receives PRP Injection
1 year agoSeattle Mariners right-hander Penn Murfee (elbow), who was sidelined after experiencing discomfort in his right elbow after a May 3 appearance against the Oakland Athletics, received a platelet-rich plasma injection last week, according to general manager Justin Hollander. The hope is that Murfee could be activated from the injured list on the team's next road trip from June 2-11 against the Texas Rangers, San Diego Padres and Los Angeles Angels. Expect the 29-year-old reliever to start a minor-league rehab assignment soon. Before his injury, Murfee had appeared in 15 games out of Seattle's bullpen, allowing five runs (two earned) on five hits (one homer) while walking nine and striking out 15 in 13 innings.
