Pedro Florimon Smacks Late Home Run
7 years agoEntering Thursday’s game as a defensive replacement at shortstop in the seventh inning, Philadelphia Phillies shortstop Pedro Florimon came up big in a dire situation. The Phillies held a two-run lead heading into the ninth inning while facing questions about the closer situation. After having scored a run his first time up in the eighth, the 31-year-old stepped up in the ninth inning with a runner on. He delivered a two-run home run to right field, extending his club’s lead to four runs. The shot provided two important insurance runs for the bullpen, which was fresh off surrendering two runs.
