5 years agoLos Angeles Dodgers reliever Pedro Baez (groin) is scheduled to make a simulated appearance on Wednesday. Assuming there are no setbacks, Baez could return to the team's bullpen this weekend. The reliable right-hander posted a 3.97 ERA and 1.06 WHIP through 11 1/3 innings this season, but his only fantasy value comes in leagues that track holds as a scoring category.--Raymond Harrison - RotoBaller

3 years agoThe Houston Astros designated relief pitcher Pedro Baez for assignment on Tuesday. Fellow reliever Seth Martinez was called up from Triple-A in a corresponding move. Baez was off to a rough start to the 2022 season, allowing six runs (three earned) over 2.1 innings. Martinez, meanwhile, had been struggling a bit at Triple-A. Over six relief appearances, he had a 5.40 ERA and a 1.35 WHIP. We wouldn't expect to see him in many high-leverage situations for the team.
