Pedro Alvarez Belts Homer, Working His Way into Fantasy Relevance
7 years agoBaltimore Orioles designated hitter Pedro Alvarez had a big day on Saturday in the loss against the Red Sox. Alvarez went 2-for-3 with a walk, a single, and a two-run home run. It was his second homer of the year and the two RBI in the game brought his total to seven to go along with an excellent .304 average. While his 1.136 OPS will be hard to sustain over a full season, Alvarez is now firmly entrenched as the everyday DH against right-handed pitchers, meaning he will get the lion's share of at bats, and could become a sneaky pickup in a pinch.
