Pavin Smith Diagnosed With Fractured Wrist
2 years agoArizona Diamondbacks outfielder Pavin Smith (wrist) fractured his right wrist while playing in a game at Triple-A Reno on Sunday. Diamondbacks farm director Josh Barfield stated that Smith will be out for a minimum of six to eight weeks due to the injury. The injury occurred while Smith was diving to catch a ball in the field. The incident took place in just his second game with Reno after being optioned by the Diamondbacks on Saturday. He was placed on the seven-day minor league injured list on Wednesday. The 26-year-old has struggled during his 65 games in the majors this year, slashing .207/.290/.362 with nine home runs, 31 RBI and 20 runs.
