Paul Skenes Throws Two Scoreless Frames In Second High-A Outing
1 year agoPittsburgh Pirates prospect Paul Skenes tossed two shutout innings, striking out a pair and allowing no walks or hits during his most recent appearance for High-A Bradenton. Skenes was the first overall pick in the 2023 draft and has been heralded as a generational talent. His 80-grade fastball touches triple-digits and is complemented by a 70-grade slider, resulting in a tremendous strikeout ceiling. The 21-year-old already slots in as Pittsburgh's top-ranked prospect and is the No. 3 prospect in baseball, per MLB Pipeline. Skenes expects to navigate the minors quickly, and a 2024 MLB debut seems to be the most likely outcome. Skenes should already be well-known in dynasty leagues.
