Paul Skenes Impresses On Thursday
8 months agoPittsburgh Pirates pitching prospect Paul Skenes had two strikeouts in one inning on Thursday against the Orioles in Spring Breakout action. One of those strikeouts was against fellow top prospect, shortstop Jackson Holliday. Skenes, 21, was the first overall pick out of LSU last season, but has shown up to camp as the most popular player on the Pittsburgh Pirates. Although he has had limited action, it has all been impressive and proven why the Pirates took him first overall. Although the right-hander is likely to open in the season in the minor leagues, it shouldn't be long until he is striking out big-league hitters. Skenes should absolutely be rostered in dynasty leagues and managers in redraft leagues should keep a strong eye on the fireballer.
