Paul Sewald's Sixth Save Sends Arizona To Fall Classic
1 year agoArizona Diamondbacks closer Paul Sewald picked up his sixth save of the postseason on Tuesday night in the 4-2 win over the Philadelphia Phillies in Game 7 of the National League Championship Series to send his team to the World Series against the Texas Rangers. Sewald pitched a clean bottom of the ninth inning with no hits allowed, no walks and no strikeouts. The 33-year-old right-hander has been spotless this postseason, throwing eight scoreless innings with three hits allowed, one walk and 11 strikeouts to go along with his six saves. Sewald will hope to keep this up when he pitches in his first World Series, which begins this Friday in Texas.
