2 years agoSeattle Mariners pitcher Paul Sewald struck out one across a scoreless inning to earn the save during Thursday's 2-1 win over the Oakland Athletics. He entered the game in the ninth inning to protect a one-run lead. The 32-year-old needed just 11 pitches to notch his fifth save of the year. He owns a 2.81 ERA, 0.78 WHIP, and 25:7 K: BB across 24 2/3 innings in 2022. Seattle continues to use a committee as Sewald shares save changes with Diego Castillo and recently activated Ken Giles.
