Paul Sewald Saves Fourth Game
3 years agoSeattle Mariners relief pitcher Paul Sewald recorded his four save of the year Monday, shutting down the three Astros he faced in order with one strikeout to preserve an 11-8 comeback win. Sewald now has a 2.30 ERA, a 0.89 WHIP, and a whopping 54 strikeouts in 31 1/3 innings. With the Mariners rising up the standings, it would be a surprise for closer Kendall Graveman to be traded, but Sewald is still getting plenty of opportunities with Graveman around. As long as he keeps up the strikeout rate, Sewald is a quality add in all formats, especially those that reward holds.
