Paul Sewald Racks Up Seventh Save Tuesday
2 years agoIt wasn't the cleanest, but Seattle Mariners closer Paul Sewald picked up his seventh save of the season in Tuesday's 5-3 win over the Phillies. Sewald came in to close things out up by three. He allowed a leadoff double, got the first out on a groundout while the runner advanced to third, got the second out on a strikeout, allowed a run to score on a single, and ended the game with another strikeout. The 32-year-old has been solid to start the season, compiling a 3.46 ERA with an 11.77 K/9 rate. Only three other closers currently have more saves than Sewald; he should continue to be in fantasy managers' lineups as long as he continues to pitch as he has.
