Paul Sewald Notches Ninth Save
2 years agoSeattle Mariners relief pitcher Paul Sewald only needed to throw 13 pitches during Sunday's outing against the Oakland Athletics. He got Vimael Machin to flyout, Sean Murphy to lineout, and he struck out Stephen Vogt to secure his ninth save of the season. The right-hander has secured all five of his save chances since June 23. The Mariners appear to be in good hands with Sewald as their closer. It's worth noting that Diego Castillo could steal some save opportunities from Sewald. Despite that, Sewald still gets enough work to warrant rostering in fantasy leagues where saves matter.
