Paul Sewald Earns One-Out Save Thursday
1 year agoArizona Diamondbacks closer Paul Sewald picked up his 31st save on Thursday, closing out a 6-2 victory over the Chicago Cubs. Sewald was called upon with two outs in the ninth and two men on base and got a ground out to secure the save. The Diamondbacks star deadline acquisition has been a little shaky lately, but overall has been exactly what the team needed, converting 10 of his 12 save opportunities with the snakes. He now has a 3.27 ERA and 1.18 WHIP with 74 strikeouts in 55 IP on the season. He is a borderline top-10 fantasy closer.
