Paul Sewald Earns 24th Save Of Season Tuesday
1 year agoArizona Diamondbacks closer Paul Sewald picked up his 24th save of the season in Tuesday's 8-5 win over the Rockies. Sewald came in to pitch the bottom of the ninth inning up by three. He allowed a leadoff single, got the first out on a strikeout, allowed back-to-back singles, got the second out on a pop-out, and got the final out on a flyout. The 33-year-old joined the Diamondbacks at the trade deadline after a solid season with the Mariners and has now converted saves in each of his last three appearances. His 3.26 ERA and 12.64 K/9 rate have made him a higher-end fantasy option this season.
