Paul Sewald Cruises To 11th Save
1 year agoSeattle Mariners relief pitcher Paul Sewald secured his 11th save of the season Thursday in a 3-2 win over the Oakland Athletics. Sewald looked great again in this one, notching two strikeouts and not allowing a baserunner in his inning of work. The righty has a 3.18 ERA and 0.88 WHIP with 30 strikeouts over 22 ⅔ IP and has converted all 11 of his save opportunities. With Andres Munoz set to return soon, it will be interesting to see what the Mariners do with their high-leverage arms. Sewald has certainly pitched well enough to see the majority of save chances, but Munoz might vulture some of his saves.
