Paul Sewald Continues Impressive Run
3 years agoSeattle Mariners relief pitcher Paul Sewald could be earning himself a larger role with his impressive play of late. In Wednesday night's game, he pitched the ninth inning and allowed just one hit while striking out one. For the year, Sewald now has a 1.52 ERA, a 1.01 WHIP, and 41 strikeouts in 23 2/3 innings with one save. He sits behind only Aroldis Chapman among qualified pitchers with his 15.59 strikeouts per nine innings. Should Kendall Graveman be traded, he would be a sneaky candidate to get regular saves. In fact, fantasy managers will want to keep an eye to see how many chances he gets regardless of any moves.
