Paul Sewald Allows Run, Earns Save Tuesday
1 year agoSeattle Mariners closer Paul Sewald managed to earn his 20th save of the season in Tuesday's 9-7 win over the Twins. Sewald entered the game to pitch the ninth inning up by three. He allowed a leadoff home run before getting the next three hitters out on a groundout, lineout, and flyout. The 33-year-old has been excellent overall this season, converting all but three save opportunities with a 3.00 ERA and a 12.64 K/9 rate. He should remain a strong fantasy option in the second half as the Mariners fight for a Wild Card spot.
