Paul Goldschmidt Finds Power Stroke
4 years agoSt. Louis Cardinals first baseman Paul Goldschmidt found his power stroke over the last few days. Goldschmidt hit two home runs off of Jack Flaherty in an exhibition on Tuesday- then followed it up with a two-run blast on Wednesday against the Astros, his first in Grapefruit League action. The 33-year-old slashed .304/.417/.466 in 2020, though his power numbers experienced a slight decline. If this spring is a sign of things to come, then Goldschmidt could bounce back in the home run category, particularly if he continues to bat second in the order ahead of Nolan Arenado. He owns the second-highest OPS of his career when batting in the two-hole. Goldschmidt doesn't quite have the ceiling he used to, but he remains a dependable option at his 74 ADP.
