Patrick Reed Is A Risky Choice At TPC Summerlin
3 years agoPatrick Reed's talent and winning upside is undeniable, but we're not convinced that this is the best week to deploy him. The last time we saw Reed was at the Tour Championship, where he lost 1.4 strokes off the tee and 5.2 strokes on approach. While the nine-time PGA Tour winner has had more than a month off to figure things out from a ball-striking perspective, he is also recovering from pneumonia that forced him to sit out two of the first three playoff events. Even if Reed is back to full strength, his fit at TPC Summerlin is questionable, at best. Over his last 36 rounds, the Texas native ranks below field average in good drives gained and all of the proximity ranges between 100-175 yards.
