Patrick Reed Comes To Sandwich Hungry
3 years agoPatrick Reed has turned in four top-28 finishes over the last five years at the Open Championship, which makes sense from a game-theory standpoint when we realize just how good the American is with his short game. At his best, Reed is a tactician that won't move a single piece of sand or dirt while making contact, and he quietly enters the week having produced six straight top-32 finishes over his last seven events. The 30-year-old is projected to be one of the highest-owned players on the board at over 15%, but it is challenging to find too many holes in his game. Reed's low ball flight should play well at Royal St. George's, and he should be considered one of the safer options on the board.
