Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes has struggled this year and he will look for improved results versus the Green Bay Packers in Week 9. Mahomes has thrown for 2368 yards with 19 touchdowns, but he has thrown 10 interceptions. The interceptions have been a huge problem for the signal-caller with him throwing at least one in every game other than in Week 1 versus the Cleveland Browns. The Packers defense has nine interceptions on the season and have recorded a minimum of one interception in every week since Week 1 versus the New Orleans Saints. The Chiefs haven't looked like themselves this season and even with Mahomes having an off year by his standards, managers should still have confidence that he could provide valuable numbers against a Packers defense that is allowing 235 yards per game through the year and just under two touchdowns. Despite his recent struggles, Mahomes should still be considered a QB1 with upside on Sunday.--Daniel Burdeen - RotoBaller

According to ESPN's Field Yates, the Kansas City Chiefs have restructured quarterback Patrick Mahomes' contract, effectively freeing up cap space to sign recent free-agent acquisitions. Per Yates, the Chiefs also tweaked defensive tackle Chris Jones' contract, adding $49.446 million to their 2025 salary cap. This smart move allowed Kansas City to comfortably sign defensive back Kristian Fulton and offensive tackle Jaylon Moore and should afford them some cushion to pursue others. The Chiefs fell shy of repeating their Super Bowl success for the third straight season, but they'll continue to retool their roster in an effort to get back to the big game this upcoming year. Despite Mahomes' on-field success, it hasn't correlated to fantasy lineups over the last few years. In 2024, the Texas Tech product set a career low with 3,928 passing yards while matching the lowest passing TD figure of his eight-year career (26) and tossed double-digit interceptions for the fourth-straight season.--Alex Ciulla

Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes completed 21 of 32 pass attempts (66%) for 257 yards and three touchdowns in the 22-40 Super Bowl loss to the Philadelphia Eagles. Mahomes missed out on achieving the first three-peat in NFL history and picked up his second Super Bowl loss in five appearances. The veteran quarterback ended with a solid statistical performance, but the box score does not tell the story of this game. Mahomes threw two interceptions in the first half of the game, one being returned for a pick-six. The Chiefs offense only had 23 total yards and one first down by the time the game reached halftime. The 29-year-old was also constantly under pressure from the Eagles front four. Mahomes was sacked six times, one leading to a lost fumble. The Chiefs scored their first points of the game with 34 seconds left in the third quarter. With two more garbage time touchdowns in the fourth quarter, Mahomes scored three times in the blowout loss. With the future of Travis Kelce uncertain following this huge loss, it remains to be seen what the Chiefs will look like next season. Despite the uncertainty, the Mahomes and the Chiefs have the talent and coaching staff to stay relevant for years.--Joshua Costello - RotoBaller

Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes was listed on the injury report with an ankle injury, but practiced fully all week and does not have an injury designation heading into the Super Bowl against the Philadelphia Eagles. Mahomes is looking to make history as a win on Sunday would make him the only quarterback in NFL history to win three straight Super Bowls. The 29-year-old already has an accolade-filled resume, but another Super Bowl win at this stage of his career could solidify him as one of the greatest players in the sport's history. Mahomes certainly has enough incentive to pull out a win, but he has a wide range of outcomes regarding his production. Kansas City plays a style of football conducive to winning, but their methods don't always translate to ceiling performances. The Chiefs could win because of strong defensive performances and lengthy offensive drives. The pursuit of history is more than enough reason to believe that Mahomes will do everything in his power to win. The path will not be easy since the Eagles had arguably the best defense in the league during the regular season. That said, Mahomes has the experience and ability to overcome difficult situations. Mahomes should be considered a safe pick for DFS and playoff leagues, but he does have a lower floor than in years past.--Joshua Costello - RotoBaller

Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes completed 18 of 26 pass attempts (69%) for 245 yards and a touchdown in the 32-29 AFC Championship win over the Buffalo Bills. Mahomes also rushed 11 times for 43 yards and two touchdowns. The veteran quarterback completed a 23-yard pass to Xavier Worthy with a little over four minutes left in the fourth quarter to set up first-and-goal. The Chiefs then went on to kick the go-ahead field goal to end that drive. The Kansas City defense did their part, but Mahomes was instrumental on the ground in this crucial win. The 29-year-old will take on the Philadelphia Eagles in the 2024-2025 Super Bowl. Kansas City will have two weeks to prepare for the 2023 Super Bowl rematch. Mahomes and the Chiefs will look to become the first NFL team ever to complete a three-peat.--Joshua Costello - RotoBaller
