Patrick Mahomes Isn't Worried About Pass-Protection Concerns
6 years agoKansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes quickly shot down questions concerning the Chiefs lackluster pass protection early in camp. Mahomes reiterated that he felt as if the pass protection he was receiving was effective enough that he was able to make the plays he needs to, but we certainly have to take this with a grain of salt. The sophomore quarterback is known for his ability to sling the ball all over the field, and he'll look to do so with his big-play wide receivers, but if his offensive line doesn't provide the time he needs to make the big plays, this could significantly hamper his value. Keep an eye on the remaining preseason games for improvement up front and temper expectations a bit on Mahomes, who is coming off the board with high expectations for 2018.
