Patrick Kane Placed On Injured Reserve
10 months agoDetroit Red Wings winger Patrick Kane (lower-body) has been placed on injured reserve. The more is simply for roster purposes as Kane skated on Thursday, although head coach Derek Lalonde said there is still no timetable for his return and he was unsure if it would be prior to the upcoming All-Star break. Kane was injured after taking just two shifts in a 4-2 win over the Maple Leafs on Jan. 14 and has not appeared since. The veteran signed a one-year deal with the Red Wings on Nov. 28 and has registered seven goals and 16 points along with 63 shots on goal in 19 games, skating an average of 17:51 per contest. The future Hall of Famer underwent offseason hip resurfacing surgery but is performing well following a lengthy rehab process. The club also activated goaltender Ville Husso off of IR and loaned him to AHL Grand Rapids while calling up defenseman Brogan Rafferty from the minors.
