Patrick Corbin Looks To Build Off Strong June
3 years agoWashington Nationals starting pitcher Patrick Corbin will take the ball on Thursday against the Los Angeles Dodgers as he looks to build off his encouraging June. The two-time All-Star went 2-2 over five starts with a 3.82 ERA, 1.11 WHIP and 27 strikeouts over 30 2/3 innings. On the season, the 31-year-old is 5-6 with a disappointing 5.33 ERA, 1.37 WHIP and 68 strikeouts over 82 2/3 innings. The numbers are dreadful, but Corbin has settled into a useful SP5 after his brutal first two starts of the season, in which he gave up 15 earned runs combined. His hot month of June will give some fantasy managers the confidence to stick with him against LA, but you should proceed with caution.
