Patrick Beverley Not Considered A Point Guard Internally
2 years agoLos Angeles Lakers guard Patrick Beverley is expected to serve as a "three-and-D" player this season, according to NBA insider Marc Stein. The team internally doesn't consider Beverley a "point guard," which would leave most of the ball-handling duties to Russell Westbrook, who is still forecasted to start despite recent rumblings. The 34-year-old finished last season by averaging 9.2 points, 4.6 assists and 4.1 rebounds. He also logged 1.2 steals per contest and shot 34.3% from deep. With that said, Beverley should have limited fantasy value in 2022-23. Although the veteran's defensive numbers are anticipated to hold up for category fantasty managers, his three-point percentage will need to improve.
