Pat Perez Falters During The Weekend At Bellerive
6 years agoPat Perez opened the PGA Championship with consecutive three-under par 67s, placing him at six-under par for the tournament and within striking distance of the leader. However, weekend rounds of 70 and 72 halted the American's progress and slid him down the leaderboard. Perez's eventual finish of 35th place ended up being his fifth best major result in the last 11 years. Surprisingly, the three-time PGA Tour winner is still ranked 40th in the world, even after producing just one top-10 finish in 18 events on the year. Perez's best days are most likely behind him, but he can still remain a presence on tour in 2019. Before we have to worry about that, though, Perez will get a chance to make a big statement during the FedExCup Playoffs. He enters the final stretch of the season ranked 24th in the standings and has a legit chance to qualify for all four events.
