7 years agoThe Philadelphia Phillies have suffered their first injury of the regular season, as reliever Pat Neshek has been placed on the 10-day disabled list with a right shoulder strain. The All-Star re-signed with the Philadelphia Phillies this offseason following the club trading him to Colorado before the 2017 trade deadline. Last season, he posted a 1.59 ERA in 71 appearances, striking out 69 batters in 62 1/3 innings pitched. Neshek joins reliever Tommy Hunter as newly-signed Phillies relievers currently on the DL. The 37-year-old could’ve been a closer candidate after manager Gabe Kapler announced the club had no fixed closer.--RDelgado
