Pat Neshek Picks Up Third Save
6 years agoPhiladelphia Phillies reliever Pat Neshek picked up his third save of the season Friday night against the New York Mets. With Seranthony Dominguez having the night off, the veteran reliever was summoned to close out the ninth after another fantastic performance from Aaron Nola. Neshek would allow one hit but ultimately close out the game, as he lowered his ERA to 0.60 on the season. While there’s a case to be made that Neshek, a former All-Star, is the best choice to close for the club, expect the Phillies to continue using Dominguez as the primary closer, with Neshek stepping in when necessary.
