Paolo Banchero Breaks Out Of Slump With 29 Points
2 years agoOrlando Magic forward Paolo Banchero put his recent struggles behind him with a nice 29-point performance against the Pelicans on Monday. He still couldn't get anything going from deep but shot a good 10-for-18 overall from the field and 9-for-11 at the foul line, leading his squad to a 101-93 victory. Banchero came just two rebounds short of a double-double and posted four assists with one steal. This was a great finish for an otherwise miserable month, as the Duke product shot only 37.4 percent from the field across February. Banchero ended the month with back-to-back games shooting at least 50 percent from the field, which is hopefully a sign that he has regained his scoring touch and will be able to enjoy a good finish to his rookie campaign. The No. 1 pick still leads all first-year players in scoring with 19.9 points, is fourth in rebounds with 6.6 boards per game, and third in assists with 3.6.
